Academic Departments

If you've declared your major, ask your Undergraduate Advisor whether your department offers scholarships for its majors. In addition, check your department's bulletin boards: outside organizations often send scholarship announcements directly to relevant academic departments.

California Alumni Association

The Alumni Scholarships Office administers several merit-based scholarships for enrolled Berkeley undergraduates.

Career Center

Career Center staff have compiled a list of public service-related fellowship opportunities for recent graduates and graduate students.

U.C. Berkeley Public Service Center 

218 Eschelman Hall
Works with the local community to engage students in a variety of service activities such as tutoring youth, helping the homeless, providing companionship to the elderly, and preserving the environment. The Center's staff has also recently compiled a binder of public service-related scholarships.

Graduate Division Fellowships Office 

318 Sproul Hall
The Fellowships Office has information on scholarships and fellowships for graduate study at any institution. In 318 Sproul, students can browse a binder of hundreds of postings. Graduating seniors may apply for many externally-funded awards, such as the Fulbright Grants for Graduate Study Abroad, Mellon Fellowships in the Humanities, and National Science Foundation Fellowships.

Office of Undergraduate Research & Scholarships

Students looking for scholarships or fellowships to conduct research should visit the Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarships main website. The site provides funding advice and links to on- and off-campus research opportunities.

Cal Student Central Office

120 Sproul Hall
While the Scholarship Connection website provides information on scholarships funded by outside agencies and foundations, the Financial Aid and Scholarships office administers UC Berkeley-based scholarships. Students are automatically considered for these awards when they complete their UC Application for admissions and scholarships. This office also administers University awards and competitive prizes for creative works, such as poetry, fiction, music composition and film.
