The McNair Scholars Program is designed to motivate and prepare low-income, first generation college and underrepresented students from all disciplines for doctoral study. Scholars are selected for their intellectual curiosity and vigor, their interest in earning doctoral degrees, and their ability to pursue rigorous and substantive research. Scholars participate in academic year and summer activities.

Other Requirements:
Qualify as either a first generation college student who also has low-income level as established by the U.S. Department of Education or be a member of a group that is underrepresented in graduate education. Demonstrate interest in obtaining a Ph.D. degree
