Rishi Ahuja : Luce Scholars Program

Rishi Ahuja graduated from Berkeley as a double major at UC Berkeley studying Economics and Political Science with a minor in Public Policy. Rishis professional goals include seeking to identify improvements in U.S. financial policy, design a more efficient and equitable system, and create the partnerships necessary to implement his changes. During his time at Berkeley, Rishi served as a Student Advocate, he also served as a loan officer for Berkeley Microfinance, and he participated in an internship with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). He is a four-time winner of the Cal Alumni Leadership Award, the most prestigious merit-based award at UC Berkeley, winner of the Regents and Chancellors Scholarship, and recipient of the George Mitchell Scholarship where he completed a M.Sc. in Economics at Trinity College Dublin. He is currently working for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau where he is focusing on technology and innovation, product development, and data science. As a Luce Scholars Rishi hopes to evaluate the role that technology can play in broadening access to credit through methods like alternative data and the overall question of who is winning and losing from these seismic shifts in Asias financial system.
