Roxana Wang (’24) Named Berkeley’s Sixteenth Schwarzman Scholar
by Lauren Miller Roxana (Qinhong) Wang, a recent graduate of the UC Berkeley class of 2024, has been awarded a 2025-26 Schwarzman Scholarship. Wang, who studied Comparative Literature and Ancient Greek and Roman Studies in the College of Letters & Science, was selected as one of 150 scholars from a pool of nearly 5,000 candidates. Danielle Tran (‘25) Named 2024 Beinecke Scholar
Rising senior Danielle Tran, an English major minoring in Creative Writing and Education, has been selected as one of the outstanding undergraduates in the 2024 cohort of Beinecke Scholars. This prestigious scholarship provides $35,000 ($5,000 prior to graduate study and $15,000 per year) for two years of graduate study in the arts, humanities, or social sciences. Eighty colleges and universities from across the U.S. (including UC Berkeley) are invited to nominate one student for the scholarship, and twenty scholarships are awarded nationwide. Cal alumnae Khushi Malde (’22, Data Science/Business Administration) and Sharon Lee (’22, Electrical Engineering/Computer Science) have been selected to join the 2024 cohort of the Knight-Hennessy Scholars at Stanford University, a program that financially supports up to three years of graduate study at Stanford for 100 high-achieving students from around the world with demonstrated leadership and civic commitment. Transfer Student Bryce Wallace Honored with 2023 Beinecke Scholarship
In Fall 2021, Bryce Wallace (’23, English & Linguistics) was still stunned that he had gotten into Cal as a transfer student from Irvine Valley College, when more UC-related honors started pouring in.
