Meeri Shin

Meeri Shin is a sophomore double majoring in Media Studies and Political Economy. She will commence her study through the Fulbright Summer Institute Program at the University of Bristol. She will specifically be studying slavery and the Atlantic trade routes in the 1500s. Commenting on receiving the place, Meeri said, I feel incredibly honored and blessed to be a part of this program. I not only look forward to the academic experiences but also the cultural ones as I embark for my first time to the UK.

Charlotte Hull

Since her arrival as a transfer student in fall 2013, Charlotte Hull has compiled an outstanding record of academic achievement as a double major in history and English at Berkeley. In addition to her excellent academic record, Charlotte’s accomplishments include: a number of scholarly publications, extensive volunteer experience, and an extremely interesting life story. Charlotte plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Colonial History upon the completion of her undergraduate degree.

Janet Ying

Janet Ying is a foreign language enthusiast with coursework in Spanish, Mandarin, and Japanese. She is also extremely passionate about the importance of U.S-Japan diplomatic and economic relations, plus Japanese history and culture. With the support of the Boren Scholarship, Janet will delve deeper into these interests at Keio University in Tokyo. Janet is a rising senior majoring in Economics. She aims to work for the State Department as a Foreign Service Officer in the future.
