Anthony Neil Tan

Anthony Neil Tan is a budding bioengineer and a maker education advocate. Wan Fang Chui

Wan Fang Chui (’17, Computer Science/Molecular & Cell Biology) received the computer science department citation in 2017. As an MD candidate in the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences & Technology, Wan Fung conducted AI and pathology research in collaboration with PathAI and leads the HMS chapter of One For The World.

Xinyi (Michelle) Fang

Xinyi (Michelle) Fang (’19, Media Studies) worked closely with female-led and Asian-led philanthropies such as the Malala Fund and the AAPI Bone Marrow Donor Program while at Cal. In 2017, she was part of the team that launched the inaugural Future Forum Beijing, a non-profit organization that aims to promote fundamental science research and innovation.

Tafadzwa Marombedza

Tafadzwa Marombedza (’20, Political Economy) was a MasterCard Scholar from Zimbabwe who has served as the President of the Organization of African Students. Currently, he is an Emerging Markets Analyst at Deutsche Bank in New York. He is passionate about the African growth story and envisions a world where global capital can be redirected to finance capital projects in Africa. He hopes to build long-lasting relationships in China and understand the drive behind the success of Africa’s largest trading partner.

Alexander Zhao : Schwarzman Scholars Program

Alexander Zhao (’21, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) has published research on biased algorithms and recommender systems and served as an editor for the data projects team for The Daily Californian. Alexander hopes to improve our ability to assess fairness in algorithms through his experiences in graduate school.

Kayla Brown earned her B.A. in Media Studies from UC Berkeley in 2020. As an undergraduate, she was a research assistant at Berkeley Law’s Human Rights Center and the Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity. Cyara Pinkos

Cyara will be graduating from UC Berkeley in Spring 2021 with a B.A. in Political Economy and a concentration on Development and the Environment in the Middle East. After graduation, she plans to focus her interest in sustainable development and passion for learning languages on pursuing a career in international development.
