Thomas Mangloña II 2019-2020

Thomas Mangloña II is Berkeley’s first Truman Scholar since 2015. He is a Gates Millennium Scholar and undergraduate majoring in media studies. A native of the Northern Mariana Islands, Thomas started writing news reports on his blog for his island in middle school. Since then, his passion for journalism has flourished, leading him to work for several print publications and the regional Pacific News Center as an on-camera correspondent covering government, education, and community. Rebecca Peters 2013-2014

Rebecca Peters graduated in May 2014 as a University Medalist with a B.Sc in Society and Environment, and a B.A in International Development/Global Poverty. Rebecca was awarded the Marshall Scholarship in 2014 to obtain her MSc at the University of Manchester, and will be completing her second year at the London School of Economics.
